Russian Post has expanded its cargo flights to China with Nanjing as the new destination, in addition to the current flights to Hangzhou, Zhengzhou and Harbin, to keep up with growing e-commerce volumes from China.
In 2018, Russian Post’s two own TU-204C freighters conducted 2-5 flights to China on a weekly basis. The frequency of flights varies depending on the flow of goods coming to Russia which Russian citizens order on Chinese marketplaces and peaks during the pre-New year period.
Regular flights accelerate the delivery of the growing shipment volumes from China, which account for more than 90% of the total international parcel volumes coming to Russia. Today, flights are conducted on the routes Hangzhou - Novosibirsk, Hangzhou - Kazan, Harbin – Yekaterinburg and Zhengzhou - Novosibirsk.
